Deer are a natural part of our ecosystem and where numbers are appropriately managed they make a positive contribution to biodiversity. By creating suitable habitat on the farm for our small herd of beautiful fallow deer, we have enhanced the environment in a way that benefits many other species of flora and fauna, and results in a much lower carbon footprint than conventional livestock production.
Venison is a low calorie meat which is much leaner than beef and contains less saturated fat. It is rich in conjugated linoleic acid and contains high levels of iron and B vitamins.
Occasionally we will also sell ethically sourced venison from wild deer, taken from areas where a limited amount of sustainable culling protects fragile ecosystems from overgrazing
